There's nary inch of wall space not devoted to statues and ecclesiastical frou-frou, and we understand some of the Marys actually cry.<br /><br />This seems to be a broad movement, broader than we have realized in trying to decipher our encounters with the two sisters. It's almost like, well, I hate to say this: like a psychosocial delusion akin to the ones that swept European countries (and later the American colonies) in the witchcraft craze.<br /><br />The big question for me: what makes people suddenly so afraid that they become sitting ducks for these apocalyptic, fear-oriented religious movements that want every base covered?
