Interesting side note. Here in Chimayo NM is a chapel which commemorates the Spanish folk tale about the boy Jesus who travels the world at night giving succor to folks of all stripes. Because of His vast travels he is always in need of shoes. The shrine has a side altar with hundreds of pairs of childrens shoes left by the faithful for His use.
I had never heard of this folk tale before coming here, and like you found with the infant of Prague, there is a sweetness to the aura of this chapel which is very different from any other church I have been in. It's much more inviting and hopeful.
What a wonderful story! The very best side of Catholicism, it's openness to these kinds of manifestations. A shrine filled with children's shoes!
