Saint Philaret the Merciful, St. Dorotheus of Gaza, Saint Barsanuphius the Great, Saint Anthony the Great and Paul the Simple

When anyone is disturbed or saddened under the pretext of a good and soul-profiting matter, and is angered against his neighbour, it is evident that this is not according to God: for everything that is of God is peaceful and useful and leads a man to humility and to judging himself.

(Me: Hmmm. A lovely saying, peace is certainly a sign of the Spirit, discord, intolerance and rancor are not, but the prophet Yeshua was certainly capable of righteous anger and a certain exasperation with his uncomprehending disciples. I would say if one begins to notice a tendency to 'screech' in one's discourse, then one is probably operating out of the ego rather than the deep interior center of peace where Self meets Spirit.)

p.s. Why do the Orthodox saints get such cool names?
p.p.s Where are the Women?
